The Free Horse Gifts event is a win-win-win for the members, who get valuable products; the marketing partner, who builds their optin-list while selling their product/services, and the organizer.

I wanted to pull back the curtain on the Free Horse Gifts event, just for a moment.  I’ve ran this event every Christmas since 2008, selling an amazing amount of “stuff” and building my lists incredibly fast each time.  That’s right – the event organizer is the one who wins the most from these events!

This year is set to be Free Horse Gifts’ best yet.  As you saw on the signup page, we have made a LOT of improvements this year, all designed to bring more people into the site, into your optin list, and more cash into your wallet.

  • Top-of-the-line site script.  The event runs on a great script we’ve used in the past – and which we’ve updated to it’s latest version.  The programmer offers us wonderful support, so if you run into any issues, please let us know ASAP.

  •  New this year! Complimentary templates for your mini-site (if you don’t already have one), as well as an online mini-site resource and a WordPress plugin for sites on WordPress.  No upgrade needed, just sign up and get logged in.

Another new gift at the March event is an audio of a discussion with  Craig Stevens, a French Classical Dressage Master.  He  spent 90 minutes answering (some) of the questions we collected from our audience.  We talked about spur usage to get a horse “forward”, as well as the ever-hot topic of Rolkur (pardon me, hyperflexation), in which he shared what these riders are trying to achieve – and how the exercise is properly done.   While we didn’t cover all the ground we’d hoped to, we all learned a lot.

Craig often travels to Europe to conduct clinics, and told me he got a lot of positive feedback from this call from European riders.  If you ride, you will learn a LOT from listening to this.  If you ride dressage, it may challenge what you’ve been taught.

2010 has been an amazing year here for us. Personally, my family has had many ups and downs, mirrored closely by my business.  But for each “down” we’ve had, we’ve had an even greater “up”, which would not have been there without the challenge that proceeded it.

And so it goes as well with Free Horse Gifts. The equine marketing community is, in many cases, not nearly as well developed as the Internet Marketing one from which I’ve gathered most of my marketing education.  In the IM market, the challenge to holding a JV event is to stand out or to “bench press” one’s way to the top.  In the Equine Marketing community, it is in finding enough partners with enough education to put together their offers.

Very frustrating for me as the host of the event. I want EVERYBODY to be able to participate, tech skills or no tech skills.  The first year I held the event, I personally helped many people put together offers, pages and autoresponders, even creating many of the graphics and hosting them on my own site – for free.

I just don’t have the time or energy to do that anymore, so the other solution, that of outsourcing it was offered – and some of you were able to take Tim Junck or Terry Loving up on that.  Again though, it was pitifully few.

So I’ve decided that the next best route is education. Along with my partners, Tim Junck and Terry Loving, we are holding a webinar series just for our JV partners and our potential JV partners.  We’re looking to address what a JV event is, teach you how to get your gift, site and autoresponders set up so that you too can participate as a full fledged member.. not just wondering why your gift is on hold, or how to use a freebie to market your physical item.

We’re announcing the specifics in just a few days, so please stay tuned, and leave us a comment with ANY concerns or issues you might have about getting set up for an upcoming event, how to find/create a good gift, how to use this to sell a physical product you produce, etc.  Your questions and issues are what will make this a great event and a useful, practical education.
